Blogging Made Easy

Blogging is one of the most popular activities that people partake in. The beauty about blogging is that everyone can do it, whether it’s for business or personal use. It’s a great way to share your thoughts or experiences with people all over the world. I had to start a blog as an assignment in my university once and I found it strangely gratifying to write down all my thoughts for the week and get it out there. If you’ve ever thought about starting a blog at any point on time, here are some things to help you get started.

1. Pick a Website

There are plenty of blogging websites to choose from and it’s up to you to pick which one is for you. If you want to blog for fun, then a free blog is probably the best way to go. If you want to blog commercially, then it’s probably best to get your own domain at a monthly cost.

2. Pick Your Theme

Fashion, beauty, lifestyle, etc…are just a few blog themes to choose from. For my above mentioned assignment, one of my friends created a blog consisting of make up tutorials. It was something she loved doing and so it seemed like the perfect fit. Find what you think will be your perfect fit.

3. Get a Cool Name

If you see a blog with a lame name, are you really going to click on it? Doubtful. Your blog name is an important aspect of blogging. You want it to be catchy and fun while simultaneously telling people what your blog is about.

4. Find the Perfect Look

The layout out of your blog should attract the reader. Blogs allow you to customize your blog page by choosing the look that you think best suits you. Bright colours, dark colours, modern or even retro, test out the different looks until one catches your eye.

5. Choose Topics You are Passionate About

Content is the most important aspect of blogging. Come up with topics that you love to write about that you think others will want to read. Write every single thought you’ve ever had on the topic if you want, it’s up to you. Let your creativity shine though and your thoughts run wild.

6. Visuals

These days words aren’t enough to grab someone’s attentions. People respond better to visual aids. Pictures, videos, gifs and memes are all good examples. For example, if you are blogging about a trip that you went on recently, make sure to take lots of pictures and share them with your readers.

7. Get on Social Media

If you want to get your blog out there, then social media is your best bet. Post your link up on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, whatever you want, and get your friend to share it with others. Social media has the power to reach the furthest corners of the world so take advantage of it.
