Find Your Passion

Find yourself

Who has not been asked the question “what do you want to do when you grow up”. When young the opportunities seem endless, the world is your oyster. But as the years begin to pass by, this question starts to become harder to answer. What do you really want to do, what are you passionate about and yes I’m sure everyone wants to do something they love and have a steady income or create an app the makes millions. But if asked the question without limits you can do whatever you want to do, what would it be? But in the 21st century its seems trying to follow your passion as well as provide an income can be quite scary, the working world can be daunting at times.

So how do you combine passion with work,

One of the most common stumbling blocks to launching a passion-based life is figuring out what you’re passionate about in the first place.Sadly, many of us go about finding our passion in the wrong way. How? By thinking about it. We are habituated to use our minds to analyze, rationalize and figure things out. It’s natural yet and the same time oh so torturesome!Common techniques to find passion include:

Taking expensive psychological tests

Recalling childhood interests

Sitting at a coffee shop watching your friend’s eyes glaze over after asking questions like “I don’t know…what do you think I should do?”

Here’s the problem: Passion can’t be found in your head because it lives in your heart. Therefore the flames of passion are fanned by engagement, not thought.  Here’s what this means: No matter how hard you try, you cannot figure out your passion by thinking and pondering about it. You need to take action and feel your way to your truth, from the inside out.

To begin you need to take action, figure out what you love, why you love it and if it is something you can see yourself doing for eternity. Well I mean not eternity but for a substantial amount of time. But I think that’s the beauty of life is you can be passionate about various things and change your mind and change it again in till you figure out what works for you.

So get proactive!

Proactively brings passion to everything you touch, to everything you do. No matter what task is in front of you, bring as much enthusiasm and energy to it as you possibly can. Bring your full attention, your full presence, the Godlike quality that each of us has within, to every task in your day.

You will begin to understand yourself as well as what you love, it is through this you are able to grow as person and be able to find the flame that burns inside of you.

After all Steve Jobs said it best; “The only way to do great work, is to love what you do”
