The Pop culture phenomenon she’s not into
Jennifer Aniston is seriously on top of the world at the moment, but I mean was she ever not? In addition to her never aging and being a constant image of style and beauty, the actress is also making a comeback to the small screen. Aniston along with Reese Witherspoon have a new much-anticipated sitcom coming out soon!
Simply put this beautiful starlet is everywhere, except for one place and that is …… Social Media. While various others stars like Kate Hudson, Reese and even her own man Justin Theroux document their day- to –day lives on Instagram or Twitter, Jen prefers to keep thins simple and private.
“Honestly, when I look around and see people constantly on their phones, I feel like we’re missing so much. And it’s something we created,” she said in an interview with Vogue Magazine. “It’s hard enough being a kid growing up and becoming who you are and finding yourself, but now you have social media and you’ve added this extra pressure of seeing if someone likes or doesn’t like something you did. We’re creating these man-made challenges and it’s such a drag.”
So what does Jen do instead of filling her time with liking and disliking or using the catchy hashtag in her daily rituals?
“Dinner with friends,” she says, especially on the weekends. “And Sundays if it’s warm, we’ll go down by the pool and the kids will come over and everybody plays and we make lunch and roll into an early Sunday supper. We relax and hike and usually there is a workout class that happens.”
That’s right, it is as simple as that, exercising and taking part in what life has to offer. I think it is important to unplug and mist importantly know when it’s time to unplug. Balance is key and Jen definitely knows how to do that!
Maybe we should make like Jen and take some time off from our screens, too. If it’s working for her, it’s definitely good enough for us.
